There are many Careers obtainable in emergency services. If you consider the tens of millions of people who dial 999 every year, it’s clear why there are lots of positions to fill. Not only does the number of calls have an effect on these Careers, but for obvious reasons the jobs have to be stretched across the country so that anyone in any location can be seen to as quickly as possible. The first of the three services we will glance at is the fire brigade. This is perhaps the most hazardous and physically straining option of the three. Requirements for joining the fire brigade are harsh and will drive you to your limits to ensure you can cope with the conditions. You are required to be put through medical and fitness exams, your lung volume will be taken into account, heart rate monitored, endurance checked and even your hearing will be brought into consideration. Qualifications like university degrees are more worthwhile here than physical fitness. Ambulance drivers are needed to have exceptional driving skills and a range of medical skills in order to try and treat or aid people at the scene of an incident. When worst occurs and patients are brought into A&E the doctors and nurses here are needed to be composed and work well under pressure yet also work swift and efficiently. Career Choices here without a doubt, aren’t for the faint hearted, on occasions dealing with life or death situations. If you were considering Careers here it is more ordinary to work your way up the ladder through another role within the hospital to demonstrate your capabilities.
